In the articles published between 1948 and 1953 in the “Points of view of a woman” section of Destino magazine that are collected in this book, Carmen Laforet’s writing is revealed as a mirror that reflects the daily life of her time: a time when women wanted to be seen and heard beyond the walls of their own bedroom. However, she not only portrayed the concerns and desires of women in a country mired in repression, but also, with an intimate and courageous voice, determined to be herself, she knew how to create a shared space of freedom and female solidarity.
